Summer in Phoenix brings scorching temperatures. While we cool off in our cars with the A/C on, Bridge moms rely on public transportation, enduring the heat while walking and waiting for buses or light rail. But they have a heart of gratitude for the gift of Valley Metro so they can meet their transportation needs.
Thanks to your generous contributions, Bridge moms have a peaceful place to return to without worrying about where they and their children will spend the night. Each Bridge mother contributes to her housing, based on her ability, for we believe there is dignity in doing what you can. But you fill the gap.
This summer we praise the Lord, as we prepare to accept two additional moms with the addition of The Bridge Church and Orangewood Community Church. Two more mothers and their children will receive the gift of a home and the love of a church family. A home where she can take responsibility and begin the hard work of exiting homelessness.
While Phoenix’s summer heat poses challenges for many homeless individuals, Bridge moms and their children now have a safe refuge away from the extreme temperatures. You have played a crucial role in giving them a home not only during the summer but also while they work on overcoming homelessness throughout the year.
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
In 2023, The Bridge To Hope initiated a campaign to establish a permanent home to stabilize rental costs and enhance programming space for our moms and our Bridge kids. With rent costs continuing to soar, owning our facilities will provide stability for our ministry and a better community environment for our mothers.
We invite you to support The Bridge to Hope this summer by supporting our General Fund and Capital Fund Campaigns. Since the Capital campaign’s launch, we have raised over $33,000 towards our $500,000 goal to secure a facility that will enable us to expand our program and assist more families. Our General Fund which supports our present mothers is completely dependent on donations and Christ-centered grants.
At The Bridge to Hope, our moms are learning to depend upon God. Each is also learning they can provide for their family. You give them the resources to hope for a future and become self-sufficient while depending on God to guide them in making wise decisions. Our Bridge mothers now have the freedom to dream, the release of knowing she was made for more.
