This month, we celebrate the graduation of Kaylea—a milestone that belongs not only to her, but also to the Phoenix Bible Church mentoring team who faithfully walked beside her every step.
When Kaylea entered The Bridge to Hope from the Arizona Women’s Recovery Center, where her sobriety journey had already begun, she was continuing the work of rebuilding her life after years of addiction, homelessness, and heartache. From the moment she arrived, one thing stood out: she radiated joy. She loved Jesus, loved people, and longed to give her daughters a different future.
Her journey wasn’t easy. Like every mother who enters The Bridge to Hope, Kaylea experienced victories and setbacks. Parenting stretched her. Consistency was hard. Growth came through difficult conversations and choosing to keep moving forward.
But her mentoring team never stopped showing up.
They prayed. They encouraged. They challenged. They celebrated victories and walked with her through disappointments. They reminded her of God’s truth when life felt like too much. They demonstrated that discipleship is more than a Bible study—it’s a commitment to love someone through every high and every low.
Transformation rarely happens all at once. It happens because people keep showing up.
Kaylea and her team celebrated milestones that once seemed too big. She completed vocational training, returned to work, remained committed to her recovery, and continued building a stable future for herself and her daughters. None of those victories came easily, but they came through God’s faithfulness and the steadfast love of a church family that refused to quit.
This is why The Bridge to Hope exists.
We believe lives are changed when the Church steps into someone’s story. We believe healing happens in relationships. We believe that one church faithfully loving one family can change generations.
As we celebrate Kaylea, we also look ahead to the next mother who is praying for the same opportunity.
She needs safe housing. She needs a church family. She needs people who will faithfully show up and remind her that Christ has not given up on her.
