Why We Walk
Arise & Walk! is both a fundraiser and a community celebration for The Bridge to Hope. For one morning each year, Bridge moms, church partners, volunteers, donors, and friends walk side by side, demonstrating what transformation looks like when Christ-centered community comes together.
Every step we take points to the journey our moms are on:
- From homelessness to stability.
- From despair to hope in Christ.
- From surviving to thriving.
And every step funds the ministry that makes that journey possible.
How You Can Fuel the Momentum
- Create or join a team—walk shoulder to shoulder, raise together, amplify your impact.
- Share stories, not jargon—“I’m walking for moms on their way home.”
- Use our toolkit—email templates, social graphics, talking points available (coming soon!).
What Does It Mean to Create a Team?
Creating a team simply means you’re gathering a small group of people—friends, family, coworkers, your Bible study, your church group—who will walk with you or support you.
That’s it.
When you create a team, you become the “team leader,” but don’t let that title scare you. You’re not organizing an army—just inviting people you know to join you in making an impact.
A team can be:
-
2 people
-
10 people
-
or just you plus the people who donate through your page
Creating a team gives you:
-
A team name
-
A team fundraising page
-
A simple link you can share
-
A fun way to rally your circle around helping homeless single moms
You don’t need meetings, matching shirts, or a clipboard.
You just invite people—and celebrate every gift that helps a mom move from homelessness to hope in Christ.
What Is Arise & Walk?
Arise & Walk is more than a morning walk — it’s a symbol of hope. We walk side by side with Bridge moms, community partners, and supporters to show what’s possible when we step forward in faith. Every dollar raised supports our Capital Campaign, enabling us to build secure housing for homeless single mothers.
We are taking a bold step forward to acquire a “home” for The Bridge to Hope, and we invite you to be part of this mission. Our goal is to raise $500,000 to provide safe, healing, transformational housing for homeless single mothers.
Join us in giving hope and healing a home.
Jesus said, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” — John 5:8
How It Works
- Walkers: Register, get your personal fundraising page, share it, and walk!
- Teams: Build momentum — create or join a team to amplify impact
- Supporters: Sponsor a walker or team: Every gift counts
What We’re Doing & Why It Matters
- Raising Hope: Arise & Walk is more than a stroll—it’s a community-wide signpost that real change happens when people walk alongside each other.
- Fueling the Mission: Proceeds go directly into our Capital Campaign—funding a future-owned space that lets us focus resources on families, not rent.
- Building Community: Last year, 51 walkers from 9 churches (and 6 joyful pups!) came together to raise $7,020—67% of our monthly target of $10,417. Full campaign goal? $500,000 over 4 years ($10,417/month to meet the mark).
Peer-to-Peer: The Superpower Behind the Walk
What is it? Every walker gets a personal fundraising page—think of it as your digital megaphone. You share your why, your page, and then invite people to give.
Why it matters?
- A $25 ask from you is powerful.
- Ten $25 asks from you are revolutionary.
- You’re not just raising money—you’re building awareness, weaving others into our story of hope in Christ.
How it works:
- Register to walk and receive your personal fundraising page.
- Share it via email, text, or social.
- Track your impact as donations come in.
- Celebrate—for you multiplied the good.
