There is something powerful about seeing hope up close. 

This October, we are opening the doors of The Bridge to Hope and inviting you to see the ministry your support makes possible. 

Our Light the Way to Hope Open House is more than a tour. It is an opportunity to step inside the homes you help provide, meet our Bridge moms and graduates, and hear how God is changing lives. 

Our Bridge moms will open their homes and share their stories—showing you where they are learning to build a different future for themselves and their children, one day, one decision, and one step at a time. 

Our graduates return to share how their time at The Bridge impacted their lives and continues to impact their families. 

You will also meet our mentors—the people who show up, pray, encourage, and walk alongside our Bridge moms. Together, you will see the community that makes The Bridge more than a place to live; it is a place to belong. 

And you will see something else: Your impact. 

If you have donated, prayed, volunteered, served on a church mentoring team, provided a meal, helped set up an apartment, or simply encouraged The Bridge to Hope—you are part of these stories. 

As you walk through these homes, we hope you see what a safe, stable home can provide for a mother and her children—and why we are dreaming and praying for a permanent home for The Bridge to Hope. 

Our Capital Campaign is helping us move toward a place that can serve today’s mothers and tomorrow’s mothers for years to come.

Hope on Fire wasn’t just an event—it was a celebration of what happens when the Church truly comes together. In one shared space, different churches stood shoulder to shoulder, creating something vibrant, generous, and full of life. Children laughed their way through activities, families connected, vendors brought their passions to the table, and yes…a full-sized fire truck showed up like it knew it was the main character.

And it was beautiful.

Especially in a season where we also paused to honor Mother’s Day—Hope on Fire became more than an event; it became a reminder. We celebrated the strength, sacrifice, and resilience of mothers, particularly those walking through hard seasons with their children. There was something sacred about seeing joy breakthrough in the middle of real life, and remembering that every mother being served, supported, or simply seen carries immeasurable worth.

Because at the center of it all wasn’t just the foam, the fun, or even the gathering—it was the message. Jesus. Every smile, every conversation, every moment pointed back to Him. Hope isn’t just an idea—it’s the gift of Jesus, alive and on display.

Sure, the turnout wasn’t what we had originally hoped for—but what God did with who was there? That matters. This was year one. Seeds were planted. Unity was ignited. And what began as a spark already carries the weight of something much bigger. This wasn’t small—it was foundational. Lord willing, this is only the beginning of what Hope on Fire will become.

And we’re definitely not dowsing the flame.

We’re already looking ahead to our next opportunity to make an impact—our Panda Express fundraiser on July 10, 2026. It’s simple: share a meal, change a life. A portion of every order goes directly toward helping homeless single mothers step into stability, dignity, and lasting hope.

For those who participated, it was real. It was joyful. It was meaningful. And that’s exactly where God moves—right in the middle of real moments that matter.

If you believe in this mission, don’t just watch it grow—step into it. Pray for the mothers we serve. Share the vision with your church or community. Show up at the Panda Express fundraiser. Bring someone with you. Every connection, every meal, every act of support becomes part of restoring hope to a mother and child who need it most. This is how the Church becomes the answer.

The words “Arise and walk” was not a motivational suggestion when Jesus spoke them. They were a command—and an invitation—to step into healing, obedience, and a new way of life.

That’s why we call it Arise & Walk!

This is more than an event. It’s a declaration of what we believe God still does—and what we witness every day at The Bridge to Hope.

Why We Arise & Walk

We walk because Jesus first called someone to stand up when the world had already counted them out.

Arise & Walk exists to remind us that:

• Hope is not passive
• Faith requires movement
• Healing often starts with one brave step

Every step taken through Arise & Walk! represents a commitment to stand with homeless single mothers who are choosing courage over comfort and obedience over fear.

Our Mothers Live This Story

The women at The Bridge to Hope don’t just talk about faith—they live it.  And when they forget, their mentoring team reminds them.

They arise when:

• The past tries to define them
• Shame whispers they’re not enough
• The climb feels steeper than the promise

And they walk—sometimes slowly, sometimes with tears in their eyes, sometimes boldly—toward healing, stability, and a future anchored in Christ.

Arise & Walk isn’t symbolic for them. It’s daily life.

It looks like:

• Showing up when you don’t want to
• Building life skills while raising children
• Trusting God and their team one step at a time, even when the whole staircase isn’t visible

That’s faith in action.

A New Year Invitation

As we step into a new year, we invite you to be part of this movement.

You can:

• Pray — Cover our mothers, children, staff, and volunteers in prayer. Prayer changes everything, even when you don’t see it.  Often it changes you.
• Give — Your financial support provides safe housing, Bible Studies, life-skills training, and the steady presence of hope.
• Serve — Consider joining a team. God uses willing hearts, not perfect resumes.

This is how the Body of Christ moves together.

At The Bridge to Hope, God is rewriting stories. Moms who once faced homelessness are now living in safe, stable housing while preparing for independence, and their children are growing up with the security every child deserves. Each family is walking not alone, but with mentors, church partners, and a community that reminds them their true dependence is on God.

But as we open these doors, we also look to the future. Right now, The Bridge to Hope operates in borrowed space—generously provided by churches and donors. Yet we believe God is calling us to more.

Through our Capital Campaign, we are trusting Him for a permanent property—a place that is truly home. A place where moms can find stability, children can thrive, and churches can gather to serve as family. A place that declares to every hurting mom in Phoenix: there is hope, there is help, and you are not alone.

Imagine the day we open the doors to a building of our own—when the sign out front says not just “The Bridge to Hope”, but “Welcome Home.” With your partnership, that day will come.

Each year we look forward to opening our doors at our Open House, inviting our community in to witness God’s Work at The Bridge to Hope. 

You will meet the staff, Bridge Moms, and Graduates of the Bridge to Hope.  Tour the office where the moms fellowship and work hard to overcome homelessness through education, vocational training, and job search.  Above all, where they are loved and encouraged, they can do it! 

We open the doors of our housing where Bridge mothers are making a home for their families.  When you visit a mom in her home at our Open House, our Bridge mothers share how having a home and a mentoring team has impacted her life and her children’s lives.  At The Bridge to Hope, the housing is more than a place to sleep; it is a safe, nurturing environment where the foundation of Christ’s love is exemplified. 

For those that attend our Open House, it is clear: 

God is the provider of hope.

In August, a mother found the courage to want something different.  She had been at The Salvation Army with a daughter and expecting a son.  She had no direction or understanding of what life had for her and her two young children.    

Shepherd of the Valley prayed for who the Lord would lead to The Bridge and into the home they were creating. 

When she was accepted, she received a home and a place where she could begin to learn her value in Christ.  SOV encourages and nurtures this mother in her potential.  She is no longer alone with two young children.
